I voted yes but only on my Fiat and Miata sports cars. Part of my hobby is working on the cars to keep them running well and part of it is to keep it affordable for me. It helps a lot to have them as extra cars and not essential to me. So I can take my time with any repairs.

I know what you mean about taking time. I may have to put a clutch in my DD Toyota pickup and it has me worried. Not that I can't do it over the weekend, but that something will go wrong and I will need parts to complete the repair that I won't be able to get until Monday.

I like taking my time and not have to be rushed... although what I like and what I do are two different things!

I've started farming out some DD work, like a Saab clutch, after 35 years of all my own, but the Triumphs have never and will never see anyone elses wrenches. It's too much fun.

<img src="" alt="" />I missed the pole but do all my own wrenching own both my Austin-Healey's; '65 BJ8 street car and the '57 vintage racer. The wet season is here in the NW and both cars are stored for the winter. My race car will be my focus this off season with motor and transmission upgrades. I bet I have the smallest garage for this type of work though. My detached garage was added a few years after the house was built in 1909. It was designed for a Model-T and I'm really glad I only have LBC's. I have made improvements like, full electrical, insulation, heat and industrial carpet. It's quite comfortable except for the size.

I still do all my own work. But, as I get older and the winters get colder, I find myself considering letting someone else change the oil in January.

I do as well, I have even ventured under the hood of my 04 Subaru.

I couldnt stand the thought of someone else working on the Morgan. Its like another guy taking care of your girlfriend!

With eight cars between two drivers.. and with the amount of money I've invested in tools... I'm pretty much forced to DIY all maintenance. My DD is a VW TDI with 174K miles and has never seen the inside of a dealer service bay.

So far, the only work I farm out is when my Dodge Cummins is acting up.
