In case you missed the news items (or don't keep up with all the latest news), we've added an all new Reader Rides section.

    Let the showing off commence!

We have something similar on the Grassroots Motorsports site. No promises, but several cars from that site have turned up in the magazine--at least one made the cover.

How do you edit your entry once you've put it in?

    A.

Andre, I haven't built that part yet. It's on the to-do list.

I did just add a feature to let you view by make in addition to top-rated and most comments, though.

You should now see an "edit" button on your rides.

    How about a view counter?

    I dig the new section.

Hmmm. It didn't throw an error that I can see.. Did it 404? What was the URL it sent you to?

    Wetpossum, you're killing me.

Let me see what I can do...

  • Baxter

    April 17, 2008 7:39 p.m. Tim Baxter Online Editor

OK... ask and you shall receive. You've got views. You can also select "most viewed"

I'm waiting to see which ones people rate the highest.

Tim, I get this when I click on edit:

Get out the map, we're lost.

This is our 404 page, which means that whatever it is you're looking for, it's not here. Time to get out the old map and compass and get back on track.

    * If you typed the address in, make sure you don't have a typo.
    * If you followed a link from somewhere else, tell them to update their link!

The marque of my ride wasn't on the list, and there was no blank or a feature to add a manufacturer. The --- at the top wasn't accepted as a make of vehicle.

    Dave

  • Baxter

    April 18, 2008 10:31 a.m. Tim Baxter Online Editor

Well Dave, what WOULD the manufacturer be on that?

  • DneprDave

    April 18, 2008 11:34 a.m. DneprDave

    It's a Dnepr, model MT-16. A Ukrainian made motorcycle/sidecar outfit.

I got a photo posted, but I had to use 'All', for the make, in order for the board to accept it.

Results are now broken out over multiple pages so the page doesn't take a week to load -- it got popular fast!

And in case anyone missed it, it also builds a list of makes submitted, so you can view by make if you like.

OK, I've tried this from three different computers (one with Vista and two with XP).

I click the "Add Your Ride" Button", the dialogue box comes up, I fill it out.....then click Add Your Ride and it just sits there. And sits there. I turned off my pop-up blocker and anti-virus stuff. Still, no go. Do you guys hate Sprites? ;)

How big is the image you're uploading? If it's really large, it could be waiting while it uploads it.

    Never mind....I'm a dumb-ass.

I didn't realize that the picture had to be uploaded to your site.....I had just pasted in a URL of an exisitng Photbucket picture of my car.

I added my car. I think it took longer to decide which photo to post than anything else.

The whole thing gets really interesting as you watch which cars attract the most views, votes and comments.

  • David

    April 24, 2008 5:28 p.m. David Wallens Editorial Director

That's right! Vote for my car, and I promise a chicken in every pot.

  • Baxter

Already did. But I dunno about potted chickens.
