I'm off to the New Hampshire Vintage Celebration with my newly re-sprayed Spridget tomorrow. (actually May16-18). The re-spray was just a quickie, but it was really starting to look untidy...it's still sort of a lumpy, bumpy warhorse. That's OK.
It is now "#909" instead of "#11". Our Escort GT "modern" racer is also "909".
The "909" number is better because the vintage fields are pretty big and everyone seems to like using "11" (and I hate changing numbers at the track). No one seems to use "909". Also the "909" is an obvious ~Beatles Reference~ and a lot of folks seem to get that, which makes it more fun.
I have pulled a lot of the decals and stickers before the respray.....the vintage crowd seems to like more pure, plainer-looking cars. They're the opposite to the NASCAR crowd.
I'll be in New Hamphsire with VRG ( http://www.vrgonline.org/ ) This is our first vintage event of the season. We are hoping to go to the Mosport Vintage, the PVGP, the Watkins Glen/VRG plus others, as time allows.
I'll try to get some in-car video and post it.
The New...
