Gotta be the KPGC10 Skyline GT-R. Never sold here in the USA, but quite importable these days with enough cash.

Yeah, a KPGC10 would be cool. There were 2 here in Napa for about a month. The 4 door was sold, and just recently the 2 door went away. I think they were both GT-X versions as they both had L20As. Still cool enough.

Not sure if it's old enough to classify, but my favorite would be the '88-'91 CRX-si. If not old enough, I'd pick the S800 and Datsun 240Z.

Mine would be 240Z fixed up just like CMS project 240Z but in that orange Datsun painted the cars. Or a 280Z 2+2 in dark green. That would be a sweet ride on classic car rallies or tours. That red Datsun 2000 is awesome. It must be one heck of a ride.

    I'm a sucker for 510's. I have a street car and a race car.

I also have a 280Z in my stable.

  • Jan. 24, 2008 4:11 p.m. spitfirebill

Early 240Z with a 5 speed added. The Z was so good it killed the British cars.

Hey, another second-gen CRX fan. I had an '88 CRX Si back in the day and now have a B16A-powered '88 HF. Neat cars.

It also helped kill other cars besides British, like the Opel GT.

Neato little Mazda R100 on ebay at the moment - http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Genuine-Mazda-R100_W0QQitemZ150209983233QQihZ005QQcategoryZ...

Although methinks $25k is a bit steep.

I still love my 1990 Mariner Blue Miata. Even Hagerty considers her a classic, with only 23K on the clock. I have the hard top wcich has not seen the car since the day she came home! Still one of my favotite cars to drive. I sure wish I could take my MGB body and fit it to a Miata chassis and drive train. What a sweet ride!

We had a '78 810 for about 10 years when I was growing up. My dad traded the 240Z for it. It was a fun car, if extremely ugly, even then. You simply don't see them anymore at all!

The Toyota 2000GT and the early Datsun Z-cars are great looking, but they're way out of my league these days in terms of cost. I'm keen on many of the tiny, post war Japanese work-vehicles like the Honda TN360 Truck. Many had the "kei" level engines (360cc). They still make many versions of these vehicles and although they're not legal for road use, I see them used on the grounds of Newark Airport and our local military bases.

    And the Daihatsu Hi-Jet 550

Has to be the early Datsun Z. Have had mine since new. Been coast to coast and north to south. Still happy after all these years.

Not in my book. I am a big fan of the early Z's ...in late 1971 the wait list to get one from a dealer was about 4 months, so about 4 months before graduating college, I gave the dealer a deposit and ordered a new one, white/red int.; then about 2 weeks before it arrived, I saw a '67 E-type roadster in perfect condition for less money (new Z was about $4200, E's at that time were selling for way under $3k), gave my spot in the Datsun line to a friend and bought the Jag. That Jag was my favorite car since my childhood, when I first saw them in '61. Both nice cars ...just my little story of both.

All good choices. Still love my 240Z. Have a hankering for another early RX-7 and would definitely make a spot in the garage for an 85 CRX Si

Owned a 1970 Datsun 2000 before...great car! I now own a newer classic which is just as rare.

This is a 1999 Isuzu VehiCROSS with the "IronMan" limited edition package. Only 420 of these cars were made that year. Pretty unique

I would have to go for pretty much any of the early RX series cars. Or pickups.

That said I have a soft spot for the most Datsuns and 70's Toyotas.

Greg, I once had a 79 200SX - the UGLY one. Wouldn't call it a classic by any stretch, but I kinda liked it.

I had an 82 200SX. It was a 2.2 liter with dual spark plugs. The notchback coupe. Revved like a tractor, but looked like a small mustang. Two toned blue and the car talked! "Ding. Lights are on." LOL

    Hello all,

I am from Australia and this is the first time I have viewed this website. I like this thread and had to put my 2 cents in. I have owned for 5 years a 1991 R32 GTR skyline which I pamper and am slowly ageing into a classic!

I would love to own a Porsche 356 or my friends Honda S800 coupe, which only has a couple of thousand miles, always garaged and original factory plastic for transport on sunvisors!
