Our MINI Rocks 2007 Mini Cooper S • Jul 21, 2008
We attended Event No. 11 of the Central Florida region of the SCCA’s autocross calendar this past Sunday. Our MINI stretched its legs after a four-month vacation; apparently, taking time off from the cones hasn’t hurt its performance. We kicked butt.
We mounted up a set of BFGoodrich g-Force R1s on our 17x7 Enkei wheels. The 235/40R17 tires did rub a bit like before, but we figured out that we needed more tire pressure to keep them happy. With 44psi in the fronts and about the same in the rear, we had good levels of grip and good transient response.
Per pulled out the top index spot with a clean 47.3 second time, while “Nine Months and Counting” Kim also put in a strong performance at No. 9 on index. The car is all set for its trip to Nationals in September.
