MINI Here Next Week! Feb 7, 2007

According to my MINI dealership, our MINI will be here next week, possibly on Per's birthday. woohoo!

We're signed up for the SCCA Solo National Tour in Cecil GA for GS. We should have enough break-in miles by then.

Major Bummer Feb 21, 2007

Word from our dealer is that the MINI will not be here this week and thus not in time for the first National Tour of the season in Cecil, GA. So, we're deciding if we want to go to the Tour and run STS in the Saabaru (not competitive nationally) or just do a local event in STS where we've got a fighting chance. Hmm. Guess that's the joys of ordering one of the first cars into the country, delays happen.

New MINI Here! Feb 23, 2007

We picked up the MINI last night at our dealership's closing time and our salesman, Larry Taylor, was nice enough to stay late and walk us through the ins and outs of the new car. Downtown MINI has several new MINIs to test drive, if you're interested in the new body style.

First Real Photo shoot. Feb 23, 2007

We drove the new MINI to work today. We're starting to look the car over for ways to improve its performance on track. First up will be a performance alignment. Rumor has it that we can adjust the camber in the front.

MINI comes in a lightweight! Feb 23, 2007

The 2007 MINI Cooper S weighed in at 2558 lbs. with about 2/3s of a tank of gas. We expect this number to be in the mid-high 2400s in autocross trim. MINI's published figures of 22 lbs. less than the previous generation seems correct.
