- Just an example of what the X could have been if FIAT management did not commit this design to prison. Fact is, most of FIAT management never wanted to build this car, never liked it and it became Bertone's car only a few years after it's introduction. The X has always been more of a Bertone design since day one, but was not allowed to be developed into what the car could have been. This is the mid-engine car Bertone designed after the Lamborghini Miura and much of what the similar group of designers learned from designing the Miura was poured into the X.
